The classic Opinel wood handled pocket-knife was invented by Joseph Opinel and has been manufactured since 1890 in the French town of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. Originally meant to be a simple peasant's knife, it grew to bigger and better things becoming an icon in the knife world; even being put on par with the Rolex watch. Plus, we can't fail to mention that even the great Pablo Picasso used Opinel knives to carve his infamous sculptures.
